Tattoo Thoughts

This first Sketch is my family name written in the same font as the ford logo. The concept behind this is that my great grandfather worked as a car detailer his entire life for a ford dealership in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Here I am looking at symbols relating to the nationality of my family, the first the iron cross of Germany due to my German background on my fathers side. Followed by the Fleur de lis of France due to my French Canadian background on my mother's side. Here i  am combining the german eagle with the Fleur de lis to create an image that interestingly very closely mirrors the other. I am aware that in order to create this ying and yang effect i will have to create a shape around the symbol to allow the fleur de lis side to be part of a negative made possible by the positive of its surrounding shape.  For this sketch I am combining my love of star wars with my french Canadian background by combining the symbol of the rebel alliance and the fl

Intro to 3D modeling in Rhino 5: Archaeological Architecture

⇦ Created with Rhino 5 this model consisting of one Mayan temple surrounded by four Egyptian pyramids is made up of solid 3D polysurfaces. I have never been much of a fan of the medieval era therefore I decided to create even earlier towering structures from the Yucatan in Mexico and Giza in Egypt, inspired by the uniqueness of these triangular structures. While constructing the model i utilized mostly solid tools to drop in pyramids, truncated pyramids and rectilinear boxes. I also made good use of the "BooleanDifference" command to subtract shapes in order to create the openings of the buildings and the desired shapes i required to make the Mayan temple. This model was a challenge as I had just grasped a beginners tool set of Rhino and my copy of the program has no virtual render materials sadly. Though with the help of  Lynda.com and the in-class lecture I was able to navigate the basics of the CAD program to create this model. (drawing view) (editi
