The waffle continued... we begin cnc cutting and preparing to make our glass breakfast. milling on the machine in progress  It took a really long time to cut but everything went quite smoothly We then moved to the plaster room to fill the mold with wax  sadly we didn't plan to lube the foam before applying the wax so the mold was destroyed when we removed the wax positive. Then we lost our wax positive so... Back to CNC milling We used mineral oil as a release to make sure this time the positive could be removed I then casted the mold in plaster of paris here are the plaster positives YAY!

This is it. environmental eyewear Ice-wear by itself rendered on a Greenland backdrop exploded view of the "ice wear" Ice-wear on a 3D scanned bust of myself I'm planning on printing ice cube molds for the glasses in flexible 3D printer filament that would allow for easy releases when freezing water inside. I am also going to taper the front frame so it's even easier to remove. Also the arms of the glasses will be attached to the frame using cold water and a refreezing process, i may create a form of interlocking system to facilitate the union of the three parts. I hope to document this art piece outdoors, maybe by the Athabasca glacier in northern Alberta to highlight the issue of melting ice masses on Earth and the essential protection they provided us by deflecting the suns rays from warming our oceans or in this case protects our eyes from the same harmful rays of the sun as sun glasses.

The piece’s intent is to discuss that all human “spaces” we consider “places” or as a “home” (places we have an emotional attachment to) all fall under the umbrella of our planet. That all countries despite their differences, feuds and geographic location are interconnected in one system with wilderness. The piece also discusses ideas of mutual responsibility, the bonsai tree symbolising wilderness supports the countries on it’s leaves and hence provides life for all of humanity.
